My favourite mangaka is surely Kazuya Minekura.
She was born on 23rd March 1975. We haven’t many news about her. She is very reserved. Her name itself is an assumed name. We know only that her real name is Hitomi while the surname is unknown but it should begins with “A”. Doesn’t exist any her photo but only some caricatures very cute made by herself.
The first work published of Kazuya Minekura is Brother (1996) on Rapport Comics.
It was serialized by GENK i. In the same year was out Just!! on Chara Comics.
The most famous work of this mangaka is, at the moment, Saiyuki. Saiyuki was published first on Enix and then is published on ZeroSum. This work is divided in 3 parts: Saiyuki Gaiden, Saiyuki and Saiyuki Reload. Saiyuki Gaiden and Saiyuki Reload are still in progress. Saiyuki Gaiden is serialized, every season, on Ward while Saiyuki Reload, every month, on ZeroSum.
In 2000 was published Stigma a full colour work serialized on Wings.
Shiritsu Araiso Koto Gakko Seitokai Shikkobu (also known as “Araiso”) was published in 2 volumes in 1999/2000 by Chara Comics.
In 2001 a new work by Minekura was published: Bus Gamer by Stencil Comics. In 2003 was out the Pilot Edition of Bus Gamer. In this work there are the same chapters of the first volume but Minekura has added 3 new chapters. This work was interrupted but recently Minekura has continued it again and it is serialized on Rex.
In 2001, on Chara comic special, was published the first volume of Wild Adapter. In this work the main characters are the same of Araiso but in a different contest. This work is still in progress and, every 2 months, is serialized on Chara.
Hachi no Su (known as “Honey Comb”) is an interrupted work. For a while was serialized on Ward. Recently Kazuya Minekura works also for Arcana, a magazine affiliated to ZeroSum, in which some famous mangaka publish short story following a specific theme. This theme changes every new magazine.
In the last works of Minekura is possible find similar themes. Her characters are often lonely, with a painful past, outcast from society of are their self to refuse the society. The theme of diversity is very used and also the theme of memory. Many of her characters cannot or don’t want remember their own past.
